Synopsis:
James Beck is a successful, married man living the American Dream in New York City. Unfortunately for him, that dream is about to end. In a singe day, James manages to get let go from his job, discover his wife is cheating on him and learn that his mother has recently passed away. With no hope in sight, James returns home to Miami for his mother's funeral, reuniting him with his father Augie for the first time in a while. James and Augie never really saw eye to eye on much, only sharing an apparent frustration with each other. But family is family. So James decides to extend his visit to be there for Augie in his time of need. However, it is James that needs Augie much more. Written by Matt Florio
Creator Biography: MATT FLORIO
Matt Florio is a screenwriter, producer and actor, born and raised in South Florida. After graduating from Florida State University with a business degree, Matt worked as a marketing executive alongside multiple CEOs before eventually pursuing a career in comedy. Matt studied improv and sketch comedy at the famed Second City and Upright Citizens Brigade which led to stand up and then ultimately acting. He has appeared in numerous commercials for major companies such as Fox Sports and Tide as well as television shows such as National Geographic’s Explorer and A&E’s Watching the Detectives. In 2010, Matt founded Comedy Flo Entertainment, a production company which produces comedy-based productions, and began creating his own projects featuring well-known comedians. To date, Matt has written, directed and produced over two dozen projects under the Comedy Flo label including short films, web series, commercials and sitcom pilots. Matt is best known for his short films Mama Needs a Ride and Sexcut which received critical acclaim on the film festival circuit, winning numerous awards such as Best Comedy (SINY Film Festival), Best Comedy Short (Chain NYC Film Festival), Best Comedy (Flagler Film Festival) and Best in Show (On the Reel Film Festival). Most recently his 4th web seriesSon of a… which won Best Web Series (TOP Indie Film Awards) and Best Series Pilot (Global Film Festival Awards).
